Julie Gibbons Creative is a small contemporary creative studio making symbolic art and hosting online and in-person workshops and events.
These offerings are usually concerned with place and purpose, whether that’s Julie’s body of work as a multi-disciplinary creative, or in the programs and events she shares with participants from all over the globe, particularly as Founder of the Mandala Magic School.
Julie’s home place is the land we now call Scotland and her work often references the prolific prehistoric art and archaeology of this place as well as the folk culture and forgotten language and histories of its lands and people.
In this work, she uses an interdisciplinary approach to consider new/old ways of living and creating as a woman in the here and now.
This involves navigating body, mind and soul, developing a relationship between the Self, the creative life force, the environment and all bodies (human and more-than-human) within it.
The process is about harnessing our curious, creative and capable minds by means of a robust practice based on critical analysis, ancestral wisdom and all functions of the psyche, including thinking, feeling, sensing and intuition.
